MillerSmiles provides its weekly phishing analysis for the week of 28th January 2012 to 4th February 2012

Over the last week MillerSmiles has received many scams from the public and through its HoneyTrap scam detection system. Below we provide an analysis of the scams we have received for the week of 28th January 2012 to 4th February 2012


During the week we reported a total of 46 phishing scams

34 or 74% of these scams linked to websites that were still online and live, ready to capture personal data, when we reported them

The 12 most popular scams as defined by search engine visits to our archive of scams we reported this week and in previous weeks were (as percentage of all visits to the site)

  • 0.47% [Norton Anti]IMPORTANT: The purpose of an information alleged sender Microsoft reported 1st February 2012

  • 0.46% Important Updates For Your T-mobile Account alleged sender T-Mobile UK reported 1st February 2012

  • 0.46% BT Security Precaution !! alleged sender BT Online Service! reported 1st February 2012

  • 0.45% your Account has been locked for your security. alleged sender Very.co.uk reported 1st February 2012

  • 0.45% Alert Banking: Security Notification alleged sender Barclays Bank Plc. reported 2nd February 2012
