MillerSmiles provides its weekly phishing analysis for the week of 6th April 2013 to 13th April 2013

Over the last week MillerSmiles has received many scams from the public and through its HoneyTrap scam detection system. Below we provide an analysis of the scams we have received for the week of 6th April 2013 to 13th April 2013


During the week we reported a total of 13 phishing scams

10 or 77% of these scams linked to websites that were still online and live, ready to capture personal data, when we reported them

The 12 most popular scams as defined by search engine visits to our archive of scams we reported this week and in previous weeks were (as percentage of all visits to the site)

  • 0.25% Your Attention Is Needed From LloydsTSB Bank! alleged sender Lloyds reported 6th April 2013

  • 0.22% [Bulk] Bank of America Notification: Re-Enroll your Account Information alleged sender Bank of America reported 11th April 2013

  • 0.21% Update Your PayPal Billing Information alleged sender PayPal reported 7th April 2013

  • 0.2% WEB WWW.WESTERNUNION.COM alleged sender Western Union reported 8th April 2013

  • 0.2% Your account has been limited until we hear from you PP-503-472-204 alleged sender PayPal reported 9th April 2013
