MillerSmiles provides its weekly phishing analysis for the week of 25th May 2013 to 1st June 2013

Over the last week MillerSmiles has received many scams from the public and through its HoneyTrap scam detection system. Below we provide an analysis of the scams we have received for the week of 25th May 2013 to 1st June 2013


During the week we reported a total of 7 phishing scams

6 or 86% of these scams linked to websites that were still online and live, ready to capture personal data, when we reported them

The 12 most popular scams as defined by search engine visits to our archive of scams we reported this week and in previous weeks were (as percentage of all visits to the site)

  • 0.26% TOP SALE Viagra from USD 0.78 per pill, Cialis from USD 1.07 per pill alleged sender Online Pharmacy reported 26th May 2013

  • 0.18% RECEIPT FOR YOUR PAYMENT TO SALES@SKYPE.COM alleged sender PayPal reported 18th April 2011

  • 0.15% Your Bank of America account may have been accessed from an unauthorized computer! alleged sender Bank of America reported 15th November 2009

  • 0.14% A new document has arrived in Online Banking. alleged sender Santander Online reported 11th February 2012

  • 0.14% Frage zum Artikelnummer 161025885534 alleged sender eBay reported 30th May 2013

  • 0.14% Please sign in your USAA account, verify and update your profile immediately alleged sender USAA reported 23rd December 2005

  • 0.13% URGENT ORDER DEAR..... alleged sender Advertisement reported 27th May 2013

  • 0.11% IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR CUSTOMERS alleged sender NatWest reported 23rd June 2012
