MillerSmiles provides its weekly phishing analysis for the week of 31st January 2015 to 7th February 2015

Over the last week MillerSmiles has received many scams from the public and through its HoneyTrap scam detection system. Below we provide an analysis of the scams we have received for the week of 31st January 2015 to 7th February 2015


During the week we reported a total of 11 phishing scams

10 or 91% of these scams linked to websites that were still online and live, ready to capture personal data, when we reported them

The 12 most popular scams as defined by search engine visits to our archive of scams we reported this week and in previous weeks were (as percentage of all visits to the site)

  • 0.7% [PayPal Verification] Update Your Account Information alleged sender PayPal Services reported 31st January 2015

  • 0.66% Account Verification alleged sender Apple reported 2nd February 2015

  • 0.57% Please Login to Update Your Account informations. 02/02/2015 10:09:19 alleged sender PayPal reported 3rd February 2015

  • 0.54% Please Check The New Updates February 2015 ! alleged sender Paypal reported 4th February 2015
